Once you have created an email template (reference Building Email Templates), there are two different ways to use your email template within the Chime platform: (1) via a Smart Plan or (2) via manual email conversations.
Using Email Templates in Smart Plans
Smart Plans (also referred to as drip campaigns) are a powerful marketing automation tool. Best of all, smart plans are easy to build when using existing email templates.
From the Chime dashboard, select Settings, and then Smart Plan on the panel on the left:
Click Add New:
Choose Standard Plan (or and of the other options) and click Start:
Scroll down to Add a Step. When the step type is Auto Email, you can insert an email template into the body of the email:
Using Email Templates in Manual Email Conversations
Email templates are a great way to keep saved responses ready. You can create email templates for the conversations that you can predict and prepare for and then have them ready to use as needed.
From the Lead's Details page, click the "Email" button near the top-left of the page:
In the box that appears you can easily insert a template from Template dropdown menu:
In addition to sending an email using a template one at a time, you can send out multiple emails at once on the People Page. Select the leads you would like to email and click on the Mass Email option. Note that when sending a mass email, you want to be extra sure that you are using variables to add the lead's name as you are emailing more than one person (see Email and Smart Plan Variable Definitions).
