Accessing the Showing Management Tool
To manage your showings, navigate to the Calendar and select Showings.
The left side panel allows you to navigate to your own, or your team members, requested, pending, approved, completed, and cancelled showings. In order to view your team members showings, you must have the Manage User permission enabled on your Chime account.
The calendar on the dashboard prominently displays your showings with different status indicators. This makes it easy to differentiate between upcoming, confirmed, and completed showings, ensuring you stay organized at a glance.
By clicking on the tab in the upper-right corner, you can seamlessly switch to the Listing Agent view, which focuses primarily on listing agent-related functions.
Buyer Agent's Perspective
First, we will look at the Showing Management Tool from the perspective of an agent who is working with a Buyer lead to purchase a home.
Managing Showing Requests
When a Buyer lead requests to see a home, their request can be addressed either on the Chime calendar or on the lead's detail page.
On the Chime calendar, filter by Showing Requests by either clicking "Showing Requests" in the side panel or selecting "Showing Requests" from the Status menu.
Clicking on the lead's name will open the lead's detail page. Hovering over the lead's name offers the following actions:
- Call Lead (if the lead has a valid phone number, opted in to calls)
- Text Lead (if the lead has a valid phone number, opted in to texts)
- Email Lead (if the lead has a valid email address, opted in to emails)
The Showing Request can be accepted or deleted by clicking the option on the request card.
The showing request can also be addressed on the lead's profile.
When accepting the showing, the first step is to select the date and time. This is optimized to match the lead's requested showing date.
The next step is to contact the Listing Agent to acquire the access code. Once acquired, enter in the Access Instructions box to confirm the showing:
Once the showing is approved, the request status will update to Approved.
If the requested showing listing has been Sold, it will be marked with a red Sold banner and the option to accept the showing request will be removed. If the showing was approved, it will automatically be cancelled and all participants will be notified via email. Scheduled showings can also be manually cancelled, by clicking Cancel on the showing card. When a showing appointment is cancelled, the following will occur:
-
Confirm Cancellation: After clicking "Cancel," you may be prompted to confirm the cancellation. Confirm your decision to cancel the showing appointment.
-
Email Notification: Once you confirm the cancellation, the Chime system will automatically send an email notification to the listing agent, informing them of the cancellation.
-
Updated Showing Status: The showing status for that particular appointment will change to "Cancelled" in the system, reflecting the cancellation of the showing appointment.
Submitting Showing Requests to the Listing Agent
If the listing agent has configured a showing schedule for their listing, you have the option to request a showing directly from the Listing Discovery page.
Once you've identified a suitable listing, click the "Book a Showing" button. A booking page will allow you to choose from the available showing time slots. Chime will automatically send a showing request email to the listing agent on your behalf. A new entry will be added to your buyer leads showing calendar, indicating a pending showing request for that specific listing.
Managing Buyer Tours
For detailed instructions on creating and managing a home tour for your buyer leads, please see our Help Center article, Buyer Home Tour.
You have the ability to conveniently access and customize your buyer tours within the "My Buyers" section.
Here, you'll find a snapshot of your tour route, along with a count of the listings included in the tour. Additionally, you'll have access to the following essential tour details:
-
Tour Name: Simply click on the tour name to navigate to the tour's dedicated landing page.
-
Time: The scheduled start and end time for the tour.
-
Lead Information: Click on the lead's name to navigate to lead's detail page.
Listing Agent's Perspective
Next, we will look at the Showing Management Tool from the perspective of an agent who is working with a Seller lead to sell their home.
Configuring the Showing Schedule
To configure the showing options for your listing, first navigate to Listings → My Listings → Manage Listing:
If this is the first time setting up the Showing Configuration for this listing, click the Showing Configuration button in the upper right corner. If you are editing the showing configuration, click Actions → Showing Configuration:
Here, you may set up the showing details, such as the available times, whether approvals are done manually or automatically, and any information the buyer's agent will need to access the property:
When complete, click Save to confirm the showing details.
The scheduling link is located in the upper right corner of the Showing Configuration page. Click the icon to copy the link. This link may be shared in the MLS private notes for interested buyers' agents to access. When clicking the showing request link, all agents, whether they are Chime users or not, may request to showing the listing. Here is an example showing request page:
Approving and Denying Appointments
You may approve or deny any showing requests on the Smart Listing page for the listing:
Scheduled showings can also be viewed in the Chime Calendar.
Non-Chime Agent Perspective
When non-Chime users request a showing time via the link, they will be prompted to sign up for Chime's property showing feature:
Once an account has been created, non-Chime users can create their own showing links, by clicking + Create Showing Link:
The showing configuration steps are the same as for Chime users.
Non-Chime users also have a dashboard to approve and deny showing requests, as well as track their own scheduled showings. At this time, there is no landing page for non-Chime users to access this tool. They must register via Chime users Schedule a Showing link.
