Listing Pages are pages on the IDX website that display a certain selection of listings. This is one of the main reasons for your clients to visit your Chime site. There are some very useful features that can be taken advantage of when using the CMS Tool that will allow you to customize what listings are displayed and where.
Create a Page
You can create a standard listing page for searching by following these steps:
Select "Pages" on the Page Editor
Click on "+ Add Page" on the bottom of the menu
Choose a template under the "Listing" category:
Set up the basic configuration for a page and click "Save."
Modify Listing Settings for Listing Block
*IMPORTANT: You will be unable to add/remove any blocks on a standard "Listing" page. If you want to add custom blocks with listings, you can create a custom page and embed the Listings block.
Start by clicking on the "Edit" icon in the top right of the listing block:
To define what listings display there are two sections to use:
There are three options available here.
(1) All Listings or (2) Sold Listings. These filters are defined by selecting the "Filter" setting on the left side and editing the corresponding filter.
(3) Use Custom Listing Filter. This option is defined by creating a filter specifically for this page.
More information about using listing filters can be found here: How to use Website Listing Filters.
This option can help you to define the filters that are pre-populated when a client opens this page. For example, if you use the Map Area as your preset filter, the page will populate the listings showing the view of the map area.
A site visitor could then remove the populated results by clicking the "x" right next to any of them:
This setting will determine the sorting rules that are to display on the page. You can decide the order and whether it should be displayed or not. Here is what the order would look like on the website:
The following layout options are available to choose from:
Default Map Setting
Adjust these three settings:
1. Center Point. It's worth noting that the map center setting will only apply if there is no address information set in the "Preset Filter" or defined by a site visitor.
2. Zoom Level.
3. Threshold For Listings Gathering On Map. This setting will determine at what point the listings will be displayed as an independent card or a "gathered circle" on the map.
