The "Banner Block" is typically used to display a picture (or multiple, sliding pictures) or a video. It normally has text on top of it and including a heading and a subheading. Chime users can be very flexible in how this is used to present value to site visitors.
The adjustable settings are included in this article.
Here are two sample banners that include both of the styles that are provided via the CMS Tool.
Adding / Editing the Banner Block
To add the block, go to the Page Editor and click on the "+ Blocks" button.
Choose the banner block style that is desired and then drag it to the right side where you would like it to appear.
To edit the block, click on the "Edit" icon or double-click the block.
For background settings, you can choose the "Background Type" (image, color, slideshow, video), desktop image, and mobile image.
You can choose to add spacing before or after the block:
For "Block Size," you can adjust the desktop size type (aspect ratio, full screen, exact heigh) as well as the mobile size type (aspect ratio, full screen, exact height).
And, finally, you can change the heading and subheading. If you do not want to display any text here (e.g. a simple slideshow or standalone video), you can leave the heading and subheading fields blank.
